I am certain that almost everyone listening to this podcast is interested in better health and nutrition. So what makes the approach that Dallas & Melissa Hartwig authors of the new book ” Whole 30” so much different that all the other diet & nutrition programs?
In my interview with Dallas Hartwig we explore how “Whole30” transforms your life. It is not a diet program or even a quick fix for that matter. The “Whole 30″ program has been carefully designed to change the food you eat, and find out which foods are causing you health challenges.
Dallas and Melissa are focused on good nutrition, detoxing and only having you eat food that work for you. The physical benefits of the Whole30 are profound, 96% of the participants lose weight and improve their body composition without counting or restricting calories. Dallas recommends not stepping on the scale everyday to measure your weight , instead he focuses on how you feel and how you clothes fit as an indicator of success.
Our country is filled with food related disease from high blood pressure to diabetes and most if not all of the conditions can be eliminated through better nutrition, exercise and stress reduction. One of the major causes of theses diseases is inflammation, as Dallas states it is like being a little bit sick all the time. Your food choices can rectify almost all of the associated inflammation, and related illnesses so choose wisely.
I trust you will find my interview with author Dallas Hartwig insightful and filled with useful guidance toward better health. I recommend you check out the Whole30 website by clicking here, and also visit the Whole30 Facebook page by clicking here.
This is not just another interview with an author about meditation. Alka Dhillon has a very interesting personal story with purpose and meaning behind her book “The OM Factor”
Alka ” provides the reader with practical advice about how to lead a life of fulfillment, joy and success. She provides what she refers to as seven practical steps to healing the wound and getting your two extra arms. While these steps are focused on meditation, she has added an all important step around “judgement”. It is something that almost all of us do, not only focused on others but self judgement and unless we can forgive ourselves and others our world becomes a miserable place to live in.
We all hear the word “stress” and know that we are surrounded by circumstances and events that we can cause us high levels of stress. The bigger question is how do we reprogram our brains to act instead of react to the “stressor”. The OM Factor guides the reader through examples and stories from being anxious to feeling anger or resentment to almost everything in between in an effort to show and instruct the reader on how to overcome the stress. Alka does a wonderful job of giving the reader practical advice with techniques that will ease or even potentially eliminate the stress. If yoga and meditation are part of your daily practice, then you are going to love my interview with Alka Dhillon.

I recently was invited to a presentation by Ken Blanchard and his co-author Morton Shaevitz about a new book entitled ” Refire Don’t Retire: Make the Rest of your Life the Best of Your Life.” I was certainly inspired by what Ken and Mort has to say about aging and how we need to shift our paradigm about retirement.
The reality is that baby boomers are living longer and are healthier than previous generations. It is not uncommon to see baby boomers working into their 70’s and 80’s with more zest and vitality for what they are doing. Some are required to work because their finances would not allow them to retire, but many are working for the love of contribution to society and want to stay active.
In Ken and Mort’s new book “Refire Don’t Retire” they create a parable and a very compelling story for the reader. You are taken on a journey of an aging husband and wife who are lucky enough to have a wake up call, and shift their whole perspective about how they see the world. They have a spiritual awakening along with a realization about their emotional, intellectual and physical well being that gets them engaged with zest, zeal and passion for life again.
If you are considering retirement, or are in retirement you really need to read and understand that their are so many other options. What contributions can you make to society, how do you want to spend the rest of your life? These are important questions, let’s face it you can only workout or play golf so much.
Please listen to this very compelling interview with Ken Blanchard and Morton Shaevitz. You can also learn more about their book by clicking here to be directed to the website for the book. Enjoy this wonderful interview!!!!
I happen to be watching the documentary ” Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead #2″ by Joe Cross. If you have not seen this documentary it is certainly worth watching, and learning about the life changing steps that Joe Cross took to get himself and thousands of others back to health and vitality.
As a result of watching Joe’s documentary I payed particular attention to an interview he conducted with Brian Wansink from Cornell’s Food and Brand Lab. I was fascinated by how Brain was focused on how the change in our surroundings and environment can have a significant impact on our health and nutrition, so I reached out to him to do an interview for Inside Personal Growth.
In this interview with Brian Wansink, Ph.D. you will learn how simply it is to reconstruct and rethink your environments for success in your food consumption. Brian says that the answer isn’t to tell people what to do: it is to set up their living environments so that they will naturally lose weight. He says we need to work with human nature not against it, and that willpower is a very challenging way to shift our eating patterns for success, and he proves it in his new book “Slim By Design“.
During our dialogue together we discuss some very simple techniques that you can employ in you home, the restaurants you eat in, your grocery store, your workplace and at your children’s school. You will learn how to create a mindless solution for your eating habits, that will work and allow you to shed the unwanted pounds. This is not to state that you can only change your environment for success, you still need to exercise and learn what foods are healthy for you, but this factor is a key to a healthy lifestyle change in what you eat and how much weight you might be able to lose.
I hope you enjoy this upbeat and lively interview with a fascinating man and scientist, Brian Wansink, Ph.D. If you want to learn more about “Slim By Design” or his other books please click here to be directed to his website.

What an honor to interview Rick Hanson the author of another great book entitled “Hardwiring Happiness“. My last interview with Rick was for his book “Just One Thing, Developing A Buddha Brain One Simple Practice at a Time”.
In our interview together we get to dialogue about how our brains are not really hardwired for happiness, and how to use various practices that will help us to rewire our brains for happiness. Rick explains the “three” layers of the brain which I think is fascinating and allows us to better understand the “why” behind our inability to just get happy. One of his practices Rick has developed, and he uses the acronym “HEAL” , which stand for Have, Enrich, Absorb and Link. This is a simple process developed to awaken us so we can reprogram our brains for happiness.
Another simple process he discusses in our inteview is just taking the time to notice our positive experiences. This might sound simple but when was the last time that we took a few minutes to just bask in the awe of one of our happy moments. As Rick states this helps us to reprogram the brains to better be wired to happiness. I can not guarantee that we will all become Dalai Lama’s after listening to my interview with Rick, but it will put you on the right track to greater levels of happiness.
I hope you enjoy this wonderful interview with a fascinating author and advocate for well being and happiness.

I am not aware of a soul on this planet that at sometime or another has not wished that they could find a good doctor or naturopath to help them with an ailment or pain. Many of us have seen the videos or experienced in person “healers” such as John of God or others, and I aware it is easy to walk away with a skeptical perspective.
I was introduced to Master Sha by Bill Gladstone, his book agent here in Southern California. Don’t get me wrong I have not met Master Sha, but had the opportunity to speak with Bill Gladstone about his personal experience with Master Sha. As you will hear in my interview with Master Sha he is for real. Everyone that I have spoken with that has encountered Master Sha or attended one of his healing events is just in awe of his healing powers.
In my interview with Master Sha we have the opportunity to speak about his personal history, and the blending of ancient Chinese practices of Qi Gong, Tai Chi, acupuncture into something he refers to at “energy medicine”. We also discuss “karma cleansing” which is something that Master Sha refers to and is associated with disease or ailments that we bring in from past lives. Master Sha has helps his clients remove these energy blockages and become free from the pain and disease, that may have emanated from past lives.
I encourage my listeners to visit Master Sha’s website and watch some of the videos, then you can judge for yourself.
There is also a workshop coming up at the Agape International Spiritual Center on December 13th. Just click on this link to learn more about the day long event. Enjoy my interview with Master Sha, and I hope you will be able to attend this healing event.
