I always have a great time interviewing Guy Finley. He is one of my favorite authors with a heart of gold, and a love for humanity.
I had the pleasure of actually being involved in the making of “Being Extraordinary-The New Model for Success“. This new book is what is referred to as an enhanced book for the Apple iPad. I am a partner in an organization called Wiseologie Media Group, and we develop enhanced books for authors and publish them in the various forms of digital media for tablets such as the iPad, Nook, Amazon Kindle Fire etc.
Guy’s new book ” Being Extraordinary” is a question and answer format allowing the reader to easily extract the words of wisdom from Guy Finley without having to read every page of the book–although you should its a wonderful book. I personally interviewed Guy for over five hours, and our interviews are the foundational material included in “Being Extraordinary” For Guy Finley this book is a leap into addressing many issues facing business leaders from a spiritual perspective.
A very important topic that is covered is the shift that Guy would like to see business leaders make, from one of “what can I take” to “what can I give or contribute to the world“. This concept might seem simple, but imagine a world where our business leaders make a shift in their thinking from “taking” to “giving”. Not only would our business world be transformed, all businesses and the stakeholders–employees, vendors, stockholders would become part of a global transformation in the exchange of good and services benefiting humanity–social responsibility would be the focus.
Guy says that the ordinary is created to serve the extraordinary, and that we realize this relationship within ourselves by learning what it means to come “awake” and be “present” to ourselves at all times. In becoming extraordinary, one of the most valuable lessons is to awaken to our own personal relationship with our “higher-self” the self that transcends aspects of our self that are not awake to what and who we are becoming in each and every moment. At this point we experience our own personal revelation, we realize that their are not failures only learning lessons and opportunities to progress in our own awakening to who and what we are becoming.
Guy states that the “I” must be willing to die for the “We” if we are to become fearless. In “Being Extraordinary” the reader will learn that to transcend the ego’s dominion and realize our connection to the “One”. You learn that you are not separate, you are One with the Source and Being Extraordinary is part of our divine right.

I was recently introduced to author Scott Dinsmore’s work through Leo Babauta who is the founder of “Zen Habits“. I spoke with Scott and his enthusiasm for
I recently interviewed Jack Canfield about his new book that he co-authored with William Gladstone entitled ” The Golden Motorcycle Gang“. While part of this book is about Jack’s facilitating personal story, the main point of the book is asking the reader to awaken to their ” souls transformation”. By embracing 2012 as a year of enlightenment, and to join in with Jack and the rest of a very impressive “gang” of people on this enlightening journey.
The ‘gangs” intention is to have fun, but to also make a significant contribution to the well-being of humanity. The mystery and adventure inherent in this book reveals that there is now an opportunity for choosing the actual course of our evolution. Along the way we are ment to experience the joy that comes from recognizing who we really are.
As the authors state ” the world is facing multiple crises. We are calling upon you our readers, to become Agents for Conscious Evolution. What that means in terms of expression will be different for each and every one of you. What you need to know is that each of you is essential to ensure that life on this planet evolves in a positive direction. We invite you to focus on what is going well in your immediate world and to overcome the fear and inertia that grips all of us from time to time.
If you want to learn more about how to become part of the “Golden Motorcycle Gang” movement and to explore the concept of Conscious Evolution I encourage you to click here to be directed to the Golden Motorcycle Gang website. I have also listed several other websites that will enlighten you about becoming part of this movement.–Barbara Marx Hubbard—Shift Movement—Birth 2012.

Author James Olson truly has thoughtfully written a book that asks the reader to ponder and reflet deeply about the whole-brain path to peace. His new book entitled “The Whole Brain Path to Peace-The Role of Left-and Right Brain Dominance in the Polarization and Reunification of America” is enlightening to say the least.
In my interview with James we discuss the the tow hemispheres of the brain, and the differences between the left brain and right brain dominance. As James states the right brain is holistic, unifying and see wholeness. It is interested in collectives, including collective security and is interested in the welfare of others.
In contrast the left-brain is dualistic and it separates wholes through the process and analysis, focusing in on their parts. The left brain is agressive, and needs to be in order to protect us, while the right brain is peaceful, engaging people through a process of attraction rather than action.
James associates the left brain with war, and the right brain with peace. He states that the left-brain, being analytical, is deconstructive. Analysis takes things apart. It is also agressive and forceful and needs boe be in order to overcome the unity of wholeness. Wholes don’t fall apart; they have to be forced apart. The path to peace requires that we fully integrate the tow different side of our brain and end the struggle between them, resulting in a whole brain, a peaceful brain, rather than a polarized brean of two parts. From a whole-brain perspective—when all you have is wholeness—there are no reason to fight or have war: There is nothing to war against. War comes about only when we have separation.
Author James Olson’s new book ” The Whole-Brain Path to Peace” is a wonderful read filled with thought provoking ideas to thrust the reader into understanding how the two hemispheres of our brain are truly the reason for separation, and not seeing the differences. Once we can unify our left and right sides of the brain and see the world from a whole-brain perspective we will have personal peace, and as our author would like—world peace.
I hope you enjoy this wonderful interview with a great author. You can learn more about James Olson by clicking here to be directed to his website. Or you can watch a Youtube video by clicking here.
I first met John Vlahakis when I was attending the Natural Products West Expo in Anaheim, CA as was impressed with the products that he developed and his passion for the environment. John’s company Earth Friendly Products makes environmentally friendly detergents for both home and commercial usage.
In my interview with John we speak about many different topics related to the environment. His new book entitled ” Green Bites” is a compilation of facts and stories related to the the degradation of the environment, to ideas on how we can start to improve our relationship to mother earth. It is a great reference guide for someone who is interested in learning more about topics such as water, solar, health, lifestyle, transportation, energy and much more.
” Green Bites” is not a gloom and doom prediction of what is to come if we don’t transform our way of treating the environment, it is a positive upbeat book loaded with solutions and ideas to help us alter our behaviors to help solve some of the problems we are faced with.
Just as an example–we are all familiar with the hugh amounts of polystyrene foam, commonly known as styrofoam. We all know it should be banned for it is a hazard in our landfills. So what is the solution–we have great alternatives such as corn based bioplastics and we are starting to see them in use. If more of our fast food restaurants would start to use the corn based alternatives we would be disposing of something that would not be harming our environment.
John reports on everything from the Pacific Garbage Patch to the recycling of our used cell phones and electronic devices. The good news is that there are lots of alternatives if we would all start to become more aware and take affirmative action one step at a time.
I encourage you to listen to this great podcast with John Vlahakis the author of “Green Bites” and learn how you can start to take simple steps to reduce, reuse and recycle to help make our world a better place for our children. John also has a wonderful website called Earthly Reports and you can access it by clicking here. This website is loaded with great stories, tips, videos and way for you to play and active role in being activist for our environment.
How many of you have seen the movie “Avatar”? I bet that many of my listeners have, and this interview with author Jeffrey Armstrong about his book “Spiritual Teaching of the Avatar” will provide profound insight and wisdom about an “Avatar”.
The authors knowledge about the deepest meanings of the word avatar revolve around his forty years of study. According to the author Avatar, a Sanskrit word, combines Ava, meaning “to descend” and Tara, ” To heal and restore.”. The idea is that a divine being or Supreme Being purposely descends to Earth, takes on a body, and then fulfills some kind of mission according to the needs of the moment. This is different from reincarnating, which is not a conscious intentional birth but a result of karma. The Avatars come according to their own will.
When the Avatar comes, the primary purpose is to rescue and heal the Earth at a time when the balance in Nature or Mother Earth is being destroyed. The secondary purpose is to remind us that we are also beings from the Transcendental and that transcendental is our true nature. The Avatars usually leave us a set of teaching that are essential tools for living a life of integrity for the good of all. The Avatars exemplify this message and teach us to do the same. Thirdly, the Avatars also come to develop personal and loving relationships with humans, in a number of different flavors: as servant, child, friend, spouse, or lover. In the process, humans get to interact with the avatar–in simple terms, God or the Supreme Being–who has lovingly come to us disguised in what appears to be a human form.
In my interview with Jeffery you will be treated to the teaching of the Avatars collected form Vedic Spiritual traditions of India that can be traced back more than 15,000 years. The author illuminates how contemporary cultural references to Avatars reveal their deep and enlightening historical roots. At the heart of these teachings is a respect for all life, and the concept that we are each part of the same Ultimate Being, and that everyone is able to make the journey back home to the Divine.
I hope you enjoy this wonderful interview with a very spiritual and knowledgeable teacher. Jeffery’s book is definitely a must read for the spiritual aspirant wanting to learn more about this ancient tradition. You can also learn more from Jeffery’s website by clicking here.
If you are not aware of author Andrew Cohen, then you should be. His new book entitled “Evolutionary Enlightenment-A New Path to Spiritual Awakening” is truly written to get the true spiritual aspirant thinking about their own limitations. In my interview with Andrew we discuss a very important concept being articulated in the book about ” letting go”. Now all of us who are on a spiritual path have heard or discussed this concept of “letting go” but Andrew in ” Evolutionary Enlightenment” take the concept of letting go to a whole new level. He states “you have to take an inner journey beyond everything you are and everything you know, beyond time, form, thought and memory , all the way back to before the beginning, before anything every happened, before the universe was born”.
Now for most of us we have discussed this aspect of letting go, and have probably experienced it to some level or degree–but what Andrew is writing is about takes this concept to a whole new dimension. Through meditation Andrew states if you go deep enough, letting your attention expand and release from all objects in consciousness, you will find that all the structures of the created universe begin to crumble before your eyes. Awareness itself-limitless, empty, pristine–becomes the only object of your attention.
Andrew refers to this state of emptiness the Ground of Being. A place where you cease to identify with objects, that timeless, spaceless, infinite no place emerges as the very nature of your own unborn self. So in one sense Andrew explains the level of consciousness available to anyone so that they can come to his place of evolutionary enlightenment.
The teachings of Evolutionary Enlightenment are about the evolution of cosmos and culture as yourself. So it is essential that you make the effort to see your own self and your life-circumstances from the biggest possible perspective, and relate to your own predicament as our shared predicament. Andrew states when you begin to awaken to the perceptive beyond postmodern individualism, in which you see your own human experience in the context of an evolving culture and cosmos, it changes everything. When you discover dimensions of your own self and of life itself that are infinitely deeper and higher than your culturally conditioned indivuated self-sense, that “personal” dimensions of your experience is now seen as an important but part of a very big picture. In this shift of perspective, the way you understand and approach the spiritual path changes.
Andrew outlines five tenets of Evolutionary Enlightenment: 1) Clarity of Intention 2) The Power of Volition 3) Face Everything and Avoid Nothing 4) Process Perspective 5) Cosmic Conscience.
If you want to learn more about ” Evolutionary Enlightenment” I highly recommend this book by author Andrew Cohen. You can also visit his website to watch video’s and read more about the Evolutionary Enlightenment movement. I hope you enjoy this interview with truly a great spiritual teacher and though leader–Andrew Cohen.
This is my second interview with author Brendan Brazier. Every time I interview Brendan I continue to learn more about nutrition and the important role is plays not only in our health, but in how the foods we eat impact our environment.
In Brendan’s new book “Thrive Foods: 200 Plant Based Recipes for Peak Health” Brendan lays out the importance of a plant based diet, and gives the reader great recipes that are nutrient-dense and which have a very low impact on our overall environment. In my interview with Brendan we speak about what he calls “Nutrient-to-Resource Ratio”. Brendan refers to this ratio as a proactive form of health insurance and environmental preservation rolled into one. This ratio reveals the extensive amount of arable land, water, and fossil fuel consumed to produce food, as well as taking into consideration carbon emissions created.
Brendan states that the average American could have a greater impact on the on the environment by switching to the eating suggestions in the book. That is one person swapped out a Standard American breakfast for a plant-based, nutrient-dense whole food smoothie for one year, it would conserve the same amount of C02 emissions as created by driving a mid-size car from Vancouver to Tijuana, Mexico. If everyone stopped eating factory farmed beef for one year, it would conserve the equivalent of c02 emissions as over 2 trillion miles being driven in a mid-size car.
Needless to say if we as consumers would think about our choices in food consumption we could have a significant impact on the worlds environment. A diet based in nutrient-dense, plant based foods not only improves our health but it has a positive impact on our environment.
Brendan’s book is loaded with great recipes that are good and easy to make. So if you want to improve your diet, loose weight, and help the environment then I highly recommend that you get a copy of Brendan’s new book. If you would like to learn more about Brendan Brazier please click here to be directed to his website. He also has a company called Vega that produces plant based products, you can learn more about Vega by clicking here.
Enjoy this great interview with truly a man on a mission to save our environment, as well as increase the life span of millions of people.
I throughly enjoyed my last interview with Larry Kotlikoff about his book “The Coming Generational Story“, so we decided to do this interview about his
