Once in awhile you run across a book that can change the course of your life, and “Start Here” certainly has the ability to do just that.

I recently had the honor of interviewing Nate Klemp, PhD the co-author of a new book entitled “Start Here” and we had a lively discussion about the book and the practices that are incorporated into the book and hopefully become part of the readers daily routine.

We start our interview off by discussing the “happiness set point”, yes we all have one and we have the opportunity to re-set our happiness set point as Nate explains in our interview.  The key to resetting our set point is understanding the three set point forces.  The first one is “judgement” and is the mind’s tendency to divide the inner and outer world into categories–good/bad, right/wrong, like/dislike.  The second one is “attachement“. Is it the mind’s tendency to approach or cling to pleasurable thoughts, beliefs, or sensations.  And the third is “resistance“.  This is the mind’s tendency to fight or flee from painful sensations, experiences, or situations.   These three set point forces can certainly be monitored, managed and can have an amazing effect on your level of happiness.

The foundation of well being revolves around three stages, train, be and do.  These three stages make up the foundation of the Life-XT program that is outlined in “Start Here”.  The training stage consists of meditation, movement and inquiry. The “Be” stage consists of presence, gratitude and compassion; and the “Do” stage consists of engagement, relationship, and contribution.  While these words don’t do justice to explaining the entire Life-XT program it does provide you with the elements included in the program.  If you want to learn more please click here to be directed to the website for Life-XT.  You can also click here to be directed to the Facebook page for the book.

I hope you enjoy this great interview with author Nate Klemp, PhD about his new book “Start Here-A Groundbreaking Science-Based Program for Emotional Fitness.”

There is no doubt that the emotional clutter that we hang on to takes it’s toll on us physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.  I recently interviewed Donald Altman the author of a new book entitled ” Clearing Emotional Clutter-Mindfulness Practices for Letting Go of What’s Blocking Your Fulfillment and Transformation, and we discussed how emotional clutter affects or habits and behaviors negatively.

Donald presents mindfulness practices that are designed to allow us to clear the clutter by managing our brains which he asserts everyone of us can do.  He calls it a mindful lifestyle reboot which is centered around six clutter clearing skills which are assessed through the acronym PAIR UP: Present Moment Participation, Attuned Acceptance, Intentionality, Reflection, Understanding of Suffering and Purposeful Partnership.

Donald show the readers throughout the book how to use these skills to become more centered and to live in the moment.  If you would like to dissolve your personal emotional clutter and live a life that is more fulfilled and purposeful then you just might want to pay attention to what Donald is prescribing in “Clearing Emotional Clutter“.

This story is about one man’s quest to understand the life hereafter as a result of his son Jordan being murdered, and his connection to Jordan through Induced After Death Communications.  Author Matthew McKay tells about a heart wrenching story, but one with a pleasant insight and understanding about what happens to us when we die in his new book “Seeking Jordan“.

As Matt states ” Pain is the path to truth.  It refracts light to reveal things not otherwise seen. In the heart of the pain is a moment when the universe, and our place within it , become more visible.  Nothing is truly lost. Nothing. The soul is constant, never broken.  Pain seems to damage us, but the damage is an illusion.  The idea of safety or protection is an illusion.  It is all safe—everything we love.

Matt has had more than 100 conversations with his son Jordan, all of which have been revealing about the life after death.  He asked Jordan what can be gained and lost? His immediate answer was that nothing is lost by opening to the circle with the dead. Nothing.  Communicating with the dead preserves a connection across the life and death divide, by learning things that only the dead can know.

If you are at all curious about life after death and communicating with the dead, then I would recommend that you listen too and get a copy of “Seeking Jordan–How I Learned the Truth about Death and the Invisible Universe.”  If you want to learn more about Matthew please click here to be directed to his website.  I trust you will be informed and intrigued by our interview together.

Change is everywhere, change is the only constant and it certainly is not going away.  What do we do, how do we manage change?  You and your fellow workers learn how to live with it, cope and make it your ally.

As the author Moe Glenner states in his new book “Plus Change-Genesis of Innovation” “Since life will frequently take us to the intersection of creativity, change and innovation, how do we successfully navigate the junction?  Now, that is the question of the millennial?

In Moe’s book “Plus Change” he navigates us through the elements of change and unlocks the secrets to turning that change into growth, potential and profits.  Moe has what he refers to as the “Nifty-Nine Principles to the creative process.  These principles are wonderful ways to move change into creativity, and they are 1) Release the endorphins 2) Separate idea generation from idea evaluation 3) Always test assumptions 4) Avoid patterned thinking 5) Create new perspectives 6) Minimize negative thinking 7) Take (prudent) risks 8) Get lost! 9) Turn Out the lights.

I recently had the pleasure of interviewing Bill Jensen the author of a new book entitled ” Future Strong, How to Work Unleashed, Lead Boldly, and Live Life Your Way.”

According to Bill the future of work is undergoing radical transformation and it starts with you.  Bill states that before personal commitments and habits come the choices we will make.  Those choices include 1) Inner Truth-Will You hear the heartbeat of your past choices?  2) Soul on Fire-Who will you choose to become?  3) Humble Self-How will you choose to be vulnerable?  4) Sacrifice-What are the best hardships for my best future? 5) Reliance-Who will you choose to have your back.

The premise for “Future Strong” is that most businesses are locked into 20th century approaches that are holding back the next fundamental shift in human capacity.  These outmoded systems and structures are on a collision course with the wave of millennials who will constitute half of all workers by 2020.  Future Strong is the road map for leaders and individuals to create strong futures for themselves and their teams.
