Sandra IngermanI recently had the pleasure of interviewing Sandra Ingerman the author of “Awakening to the Spirit World‘.  In the three years that I have been conducting interviews for the Inside Personal Growth podcast series this is only the second interview on shamanism, and I was very impressed with Sandra’s depth of knowledge and wisdom about the practices of shamanism.

As Sandra states in the book the word “shaman” refers to one who sees in the dark.  To practice shamanism is to open vision to a world that is hidden from normal view and to enter the deeper reality of the unseen universe.  The core of shamanism is the experience of direct revelation–to communicate firsthand with your spiritual allies and discover your own power.

In my interview with Sandra we discuss the wayS and practices associated with helping one to open up to this spirit world.  Anyone can make the spiritual journey to access their spiritual allies, but their are practices to prepare you for this journey.

Sandra points out that the shamanistic practice can assist one in thriving in challenging and changing times.  In our modern-day technological world we have been lead to believe that what we see, touch, hear, smell and taste with our ordinary senses connects us only to the world that is visible around us.  Shamanism teaches that there are doorways into other realms of reality where healing spirits reside who can share guidance, insights and healing not just for ourselves but also for the world in which we live.

Shamanism teaches that we are part of Nature and on with all of life. Since we are part of Nature, Nature itself become a helping spirit that has much to share with us about how to bring our live back into harmony and balance.  In the fast paced world that we are living in today, the practice of shamanism and getting in touch with our spiritual allies would certainly be a good thing.  Just maybe we would learn more about our soul’s journey and our role in the grander scheme of things.

If you would like to learn more about Shamanism then I would certainly recommend that you read ” Awakening to the Spirit World“. Sandra’s book will open up your eyes and and your senses to a world that will be quite revealing, and will help you explore at a deeper level many of those important questions you would like to have answers too.

Marti SpiegelmanI received an email from Marti Spiegelman stating that she was going to be interviewing Rinaldo Brutoco from the World Business Academy for her radio show entitled “Awakening Value“.  I have to admit that I was quite intrigued,  because she is a practicing  modern shaman and in all the years that I have done interviews on Inside Personal Growth I have never had the opportunity to interview a shaman, and Marti graciously accepted.

In my interview we explore so many fascinating aspects of Shamanism, as well as discussing a program she as developed for CEO’s entitled “The Conscious CEO.  As Marti explains it shamanism is a word that means nothing more than “keepers of the wisdom”, and in accent indian traditions the elders in the tribes would pass on this wisdom from generation to generation.

There are two keys to the training. The first is mastery of the shaman’s state of luminous awareness. The second is mastery of the fundamental principles that underlie all shamanic technologies. As these principles are revealed to you, you are taught how to use them the way they were originally intended – to grow you, fully and passionately into the genius you actually are and create pathways for your gift to be received in the world. In the process of mastering luminous awareness and receiving multiple levels of shamanic intuition, you develop for yourself a new way to walk in the world, a new way to understand life and your place in it, a new way to be your power and your passion.

These teachings are an integral part of Marti’s course entitled “The Conscious CEO” that she conducts a couple of times per year.  If you are a CEO of an organization or in upper management the shamanic technologies that Marti imparts as part of her course will certainly awaken your consciousness as well as allow you to open up to developing a corporate culture of “awareness”.  Marti speaks about “relational awareness” as our unconscious but when you become a modern shaman you become very aware of your connection to the environment and everything around you.  The development of this sensory of awareness will heighten one’s ability to connect, allowing for endless possibilities.
If you are looking for a new way to perceive your world, with fresh eyes and an open mind then I encourage you to check out Marti’s website by clicking here.  Also you can listen to her regularly broad casted Voice America radio show by clicking here.  Enjoy this wonderful interview with an amazing modern day shaman Marti Spiegelman.

John RobbinsI have been an admirer of John Robbins for many years.  I first heard him speak in San Francisco in 2003 just after my oldest son Sean was diagnosed with Leukemia.  We took a trip to San Fransisco to attend a Green Conference where John was speaking about his book “The Food Revolution“.  It was this speech that made such an impact on both my son and myself that we altered our diets significantly in an effort to improve our health and be more environmentally sensitive.  I am proud to report that John’s message indelibly impacted our family contributing to our families improved health today.

John’s new book entitled ” The New Good Life” is probably one of the best books that I have ever read on living a life on less without the sacrifice.  The New Good Life is the path from conspicuous consumption to conscious consumption.  He advocates taking an active role in becoming  more aware of your purchases, and differentiate between your needs and wants.  Those of us who live in the United States for the most part have had plenty, and the previous consumptive patterns have helped to lead the current ecological and economic challenges we are faced with today.

As a result of our consumptive patterns I believe that we  need to look more closely at the choices we make when we purchase something,  and shift toward conscious consumption.  As John articulates in “The New Good Life” his life shifted significantly when he woke up one day last December to realize that 95% of his entire fortune disappeared as a result of his assets being mismanaged on Wall Street.

This book is as much about John’s personal journey, and how to learn to live on less while appreciating life.  It is a passionate manifesto on finding meaning beyond money, while delivering a sound blueprint for living well on less.  John teaches you how to create your own definition of success based on your deepest beliefs and life experiences, alleviate depression and stay fit with inexpensive alternative for high cost medicine, develop a diet that promotes better health and saves money, and how to protect yourself from future economic catastrophes.

The New Good Life” is a must read for anyone suffering through this economic downturn.  It is wonderfully written and extremely enlightening.

I highly recommend that you visit John’s website by clicking here and check out all of the cool resources as well as his videos.  Enjoy this great interview with a man on a mission to help people, help themselves while helping save planet earth!!!!

Robyn OBrienThis is an interview with author Robyn O’Brien who decided to take some real action when it came to uncovering what ingredients in our foods are making us sick.

Her youngest daughter had a severe reaction to the eggs that she had eaten at breakfast one morning, which required a visit to the pediatrician and a mega dose of antihistamine.  This incident lead Robyn on her long journey of attempting to find the truth about what really is in our foods, and what are we not being told.

In our interview together we discuss the connections to genetically modified foods, and how these foods are allowed in our country but have been banned from European countries.   Just what is the connection between Big Food and Big Money in our country?  And why are harmful food additives still allowed in our food supplies?

Many of the toxins in our foods can be blamed for the alarming recent increases in allergies, ADHD, cancer and asthma in our children. Robyn and I explore these facts and provide you with some startling information about our food supply, and what steps you can take to protect yourself.

Robyn learned that one out of every three US kids currently suffers from allergies, asthma, ADHD, or autism and the number of children with peanut allergies actually doubled between 1997 and 2002.  So just what is happening to our food supply, and what steps can you take to prevent these statistics from effecting you or your family? “The “Unhealthy Truth” discloses what you need to know.  She provides recipes and actions plans for weaning your family off dangerous chemicals one step at at time.

I encourage you to listen to a very informative interview with the Erin Brockovich of food as she has been referred to by the media.

Robyn is also the founder of a non-profit entitled “Allergy Kids”  where you can obtain more information about her and the work she is doing to expose this important information about our foods and how to keep your family healthy in spite of the startling statistics.

Will Marre I have been a fan of Will Marrè’s for a long time.  His workshops and writings are fantastic!!! He is a joy to listen to and  dialogue with.

His new book entitled, “Save the World and Still Be Home for Dinner“,  is designed to enlighten and move his readers to action.  All of us can admit that we live in a world that is constantly changing.  Our lives have been moving at a faster pace, and we are looking for more meaning and purpose in our personal and professional lives.

Will’s new book ” Save the World and Still Be Home for Dinner” is written to get you thinking about your personal promise.  What is is that you would do to make a difference in the world?  What is your personal promise to yourself and your family?

Will asks you to “change how you think about change.”  To create a world of sustainable abundance which means to find the pulse of life we can maintain that doesn’t burn us out or exhaust us but enables us to be fully present in each moment filled with both gratitude and new solutions.

If we are to live lives filled with sustainable abundance, then as leaders we need to be Real Leaders.  We need to be responsible, ethical, create abundance and a legacy.  When we look at our world from a real leadership perspective our challenges become opportunities, and our decisions are made with the whole world in mind.

Will encourages individuals to know themselves, to dig deep within themselves and do some soul searching.  Why are you here?  What is your promise, and how can you fulfill it?

As the author articulates,  soul as I mean the word is not some poetic spiritual abstraction or article of religious dogma, but the core essence of who we are as living breathing, feeling, thinking human beings.  Our soul is the deepest dimension of our awareness, as silent intelligence that underlies all of our mental and emotional functions.  Our soul is not the object of our thinking.  It is the thinker.  The “me” before the thoughts.  is is the sacred essence of our individual identity.

So if you are looking to search your soul, and find a place within yourself that resonates with the essence of your being and from this place be moved to take action and make a difference in this world, then I not only highly recommend “Save the World and Still Be Home for Dinner” I also recommend that you watch some of Will’s great video’s on Save the World and Still Be Home for Dinner by clicking here.

You are going to love this interview with Will Marrè, and I know you will want to read this book more than once to really dig into the essence of the message.
