Inside Personal Growth with Greg Voisen · Podcast 830: Master of None – How a Jack-of-all-Trades Can Still Reach the Top with Clifford Hudson We

I recently had the pleasure of interviewing a young new author and coach by the name of Zander Fryer.  Zander and several other authors co-authored a book with Jack Canfield entitled ” Mastering the Art of Success“.

In my interview with Zander, I get the opportunity to explore the journey and path that Zander took to become a top-notch coach as well as learn about his personal passion for helping his clients find and live their purpose.  Early in Zanders career, he made some mistakes and those mistakes lead him down a path to become one of the top systems architects at a major software company.  Then one day one of his mentors ask Zander a question that changed his life forever.  “What would you do if you could not fail?”  Zander had a passion for leading which came from his experience in being in the ROTC, and with that passion, he developed his own coaching organization.

Zander has studied under the best–Jack Canfield and advocates to his clients to find their joy in life and by knowing that you will live a life filled with more abundance, happiness, and fulfillment.  Zander has a great exercise to help someone find their life purpose.  He asks you to sit quietly and ask yourself “What is your life purpose?” then write what comes up.  Then he asks you to ask “What is your true-life purpose?” and repeat this about three times.   The purpose of doing this exercise three times that you will most likely get to the true inner purpose and it will help you refine your purpose.

One of my favorite and most admired authors is Steven Kotler.  Has authored  “Tomorrowland“, “Bold“, “The Rise of Superman” and “Abundance” just to name a few.  He is a prolific writer and author.

I recently had the pleasure to discuss with him his new book entitled “Stealing Fire-How Silicon Valley, the Navy Seals, and Mavericks Scientists Are Revolutionizing the Way We Live and Work.”

In our interview together we explore the revolution that is occurring in society today, and shortcuts that are being used to boost insight and inspiration which results in creating alters states of consciousness, thus improving personal performance. Steven and his co-author Jamie Wheal have spent four years investigating the leading edges of this revolution, from interviews with the Navy Seals, Green Berets and attending Burning Man they have compiled the stories and information in their new book “Stealing Fire”.

Steven states that this revolution is spreading into the mainstream, fueling a trillion dollar underground economy and forcing us to rethink how we can lead richer, more productive, more satisfying lives.  In our interview, we discuss recent advances in psychology, neurobiology, pharmacology, and technology are driving this phenomenon which allows us to move past myths, assumptions, and controversies and embrace peak performances as men and women.

As you will find out when you read “Stealing Fire” the quest to attain these alter states of consciousness have been going on since 415BC. To this day the rituals, techniques, and drugs used to attain these altered states of consciousness are changing and the effects are much more powerful.  I know you are going to love this interview with author Steven Kotler about his new book “Stealing Fire

There is most likely not a person on the planet that has not run into more that one obstacle during their lifetime. The bigger question that we need to ask ourselves, is just how do we perceived the obstacles that we have encountered. Do we look upon them as negative or are we able to reframe our reference to them as learning lessons?

In my recent interview with Ryan Holiday about his new book entitled ” The Obstacle Is The Way” we discuss his journey he takes his readers through history telling stories about some of the greatest people in history and the immense obstacles many of them encountered, but more importantly the personal power the all obtained by shifting their perspective about the obstacles they encountered and seeing them as learning lessons.

In story after story Ryan shows that when failure comes— Ask what went wrong? What can be improved? What am I missing. He states that entrepreneurs are: 1) Never wedded to a position 2) Never afraid to lose a little of their investment 3) Never bitter or embarrassed 4) Never out of the game long.

If you are currently facing a life challenge around growing your business, money or personal affairs then I highly recommend reading Ryan’s new book. It is inspirational and will provide you with a completely new perspective and reframe of your perceived obstacles.
