Are you looking for new ways to be more eco-friendly? Would you like to be mindful about your consumption, and the effects that it is having on the planet? Do you want to reduce your personal ecological footprint?
I recently had the opportunity of interviewing author Madeleine Somerville about her new book entitled “All You Need Is Less“. This is a wonderful book loaded with ideas and tips to transform how you run your household. Madeleine states you can realistically adopt an eco-friendly lifestyle without either losing your mind from the soul-destroying guilt of using a plastic bag because you forgot your reusable ones in the trunk of your car, or becoming a prachy know-it all whom everyone loathes from the tips of her/his organically-shampooed hair to the toes of her/his naturally-sourced recycled sandals.
We are all aware that our current population is over 7 billion and growing. If we are all to create a sustainable and equitable lifestyle for all citizens worldwide we need to really consider our consumption habits. Our ecology all starts with our “thoughts” about our wants. Ask yourself do you really need that new car, television, cell phone. Everytime we make a decision to purchase something we need to look at the product life-cycle. How long will it last before it ends up in the recycle bin?
I hope you enjoy this interview with environmentalists Madeleine Somerville. She really has some good tips for shifting our behaviors, and being more mindful of our consumption. If you want to learn more about Madeleine and her book click here to be directed to her website.
I recently had the pleasure of interviewing author Lisa Nirell. She has another new book that has just been released entitled ” The Mindful Marketer.”
In Lisa’s new book she questions traditional marketing methodology, and provides the reader with alternative ways to implement effective marketing strategies. Lisa states that the traditional chief marketing officers are facing extinction because of the use of big data, and how it is transforming the way we work as marketers. She states that that modern marketing leaders are expected to be tech savvy, data driven brand ambassadors on the vanguard of change.
I appreciate Lisa’s approach to this book. She exposes how our always-on mindset and the consistent need for speed and innovation has created an environment of mindlessness. She states we need to stop, breathe and reflect mindfully on future opportunities and daily decisions if we are to effectively make deep meaningful connections with our customers. Lisa recommend a “middle path”, a nexus between data-fueled, analytical thinking and creativity to a humanistic approach to marketing.
I hope you enjoy this wonderful interview with a leader in the marketing industry. If you want to learn more about Lisa you can click here to be directed to her website.

I happen to have a very good friend recommend that do an interview with author and scientist George Land about his new book entitled “Natures Hidden Force“. While I have never met George, I knew of his prior work “Grow or Die, The Unifying Principle of Transformation“. I was exposed to his work by a very good friend whom has now passed by the name of Larry Wilson the founder of Wilson Learning.
I knew this new book would be as interesting and thought provoking as the man himself. George a General Systems Scientists by occupation, was transformed as a result of researching and writing ” Natures Hidden Force”. He has taken some of the most complex scientific theories such as the “Law of Entropy” and turned them on their head.
If you are looking for making the connect between science and spirituality, then this interview is for you. George does an excellent job of connecting the dots and proves that our Universe is not in decay, but that we are all Creatively Connected. As Albert Einstein stated in 1954, “The religion of the future will be a cosmic religion. It will transcend personal God and avoid dogma and theology. Covering both the natural and the spiritual, it should be based on a religious sense arising from the experience of all things natural and spiritual as a meaningful unity.”
I hope you enjoy this wonderful interview with a very intelligent and grounded author George Land. If you want to learn more just click here to be directed to his website.
I was so pleased with my first interview with Matthew Fox that I invited him back to do another interview. As many of you are aware he is a prolific author with 28 titles to his name. While I am unable to interview him for all of his works, I chose to focus on a book entitled ” The Hidden Spirituality of Men” which intrigued me.
In this interview with Matthew we discuss the the current troubles that are plaguing our planet, and the role that our male dominated society has played in many of the issues and challenges our world is faced with. In “The Hidden Spirituality of Men” Matthew is awakening the worldviews for men by providing ten metaphors to awaken what he calls “the sacred masculine”. He also includes models of sacred marriage, showing how partnerships with the feminine becomes the ultimate expression of masculinity.
I encourage my listeners to take a deep dive, and really understand the sacred masculine. If we shift our worldviews and better understand how we behave and treat the planet, we can make a transformation for the better allowing us to awaken to living in harmony with mother earth.

I recently had the pleasure of interviewing Tom North the author of “True North-The Shocking Truth about “Yours, Mine and Ours” one of the eight North children, who together with ten Beardsley children, become the family which was featured in the 1968 film, “Yours, Mine and Ours” starring Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda, and again in 2005 version starring Rene Russo and Dennis Quaid.
In my interview with Tom we get the opportunity to peer into the window of what truly went on in the blended Beardsley family. As Tom explains it tremendous family dysfunction and child abuse. ” It was not one big happy family as the movie depicted. The stepfather’s violence and abuse created a life of intimidation, confusion and turmoil, fear and depression for the North children. This abuse lead Tom to a life of drugs in his early years, but later turned himself around and now leads a happy life with his family.
Tom is an advocate and official supporter of the National CASA for Children and committed to raising awareness about all forms of child abuse and domestic violence. If you want to learn more about Tom you can click here to be directed to his website.
If you are interested in changing your world, then I would recommend reading ” The Prayer Project” by Paramahansa Jagadish. I recently interviewed Jagadish who is an ambassador for the Prayer Project. “The world is on the brink of change and we can no longer disregard our environment, or economy and our futures and simply assume that everything will work itself out. The world is affected with selfishness, greed and disregard for life and we can be the change for good”
Paramahansa recommends prayer for three minutes, three times per day. In just nine minutes if we have thousands of people practicing and praying we can change the global vibration to one of peace, hope and compassion. I certainly believe that meditation, prayer and coming together in community is needed more now than ever before. Paramahansa’ new book “The Prayer Project” has prayers from all religions so there is something for everyone.
If you want to learn more about Paramahansa Jagadish you will be directed to his website by clicking here. I hope you enjoy our interview together.
It is my honor and a pleasure to have interviewed my meditation teachers Joel and Michelle Levey. The have re-released their book “Living in Balance” which has been thoroughly updated and revised. In our interview together we discuss the “tight rope” that we all walk on attempting to maintain a life of balance and harmony. In our hectic world many reading this post can relate to the challenges of finding that mid-point where we establish a life filled with happiness, joy and bliss while still engaging in the world.
Joel and I discuss the concept of flow, how to reach it and maintain this optimal state of performance. We have all been there, but it seems to be something that is fleading and difficult to reach and maintain. Joel provide some simple techniques and practices that will assist the listener in staying in the flow.
