Being courageous requires one step out of their comfort zone and do something that is bold and might make a difference in the world. In this interview with Ryan Berman the author of a new book entitled “Return on Courage: A Business Playbook for Courageous Change”, we discuss how courage plays a role in building your brand. What is it that you and or your company stand for?
Fifty-two percent of the Fortune 500 companies from the year 2000 are now extinct. In less than two decades more, than half of the brands that were on the Fortune 500 list in 2000 no longer exist. Companies such as Toys “R” Us, Tower Records, Pet.com, Blockbuster, and Kodak are no more. So what is causing all this? And now can your company avoid this grave danger?
Ryan says it starts with accepting the “Four Truths of the Business Apocalypse: 1) Companies are perishing at an alarming rate. 2) We are afraid of change. 3) What got you here won’t keep you here. 4) You need time, but you don’t have time. There are four principles of competent and courageous decision-making that make a difference-talent, team, tenacity, and training and these principles are important to the success of your brand and company.
Ryan has created a Central Courage System that outlines how you create a courageous brand if you want to learn more about this system please listen to this interview with Ryan Berman or go to his website by clicking here.
