“Self-warmth makes everything better: our health, our immune system, our life decision, our sense of meaning, our capacity for engagement, our effectiveness, and our intimate connections with others”, states our guest for this podcast, Sarah Peyton.
Sarah is the author and guest on this edition of Inside Personal Growth to speak about her new book entitled “Your Resonant Self Workbook-From Self-sabotage to Self-care” She is also the author of “Your Resonant Self-Guided Meditations and Exercises to Engage Your Brain’s Capacity for Healing”
In my interview with Sarah, we explore the neuroscience of self-care and how we are wired to tell ourselves self-sabotaging stories that don’t allow us to become what we are capable of becoming. For much of her life, Sarah struggled with depression as a result of what she calls “the broken contracts”. These are the unconscious contracts that negatively affect our daily lives. We begin to realize that we have a get-things-done brain and a resonating brain and that they are often entirely different brain systems that aren’t communicating with each other.
“Your Resonant Self Workbook” is designed to take the reader on a journey out of the broken contracts we have made with ourselves to a place of compassion and self-warmth for ourselves. When you complete the workbook you will most certainly have asked yourself lots of questions about your self-sabotage behavior and will have moved to a place of self-care and nurturing. There is journaling, worksheets, and stories that are utilized to assist the reader on the journey toward a happier more self-resonate life.
