Podcast 706: Scaling Leadership-Building Organizational Capability and Capacity to Create Outcomes that Matter Most with Bill Adams

If there’s one book you should read about leadership it would be “Scaling Leadership” by Bill Adams and Robert Anderson.  In a recent interview with Bill we discuss that leaders in our world today need to possess the skills to scale leadership.  So just what does that mean–it means that leaders today need to be able to lead growth and to remain effective with the increased complexity that come with rapid growth.  Leaders also need to be able to scale by helping develop other capable leaders in their organizations. Successful leaders scale and transform the organization by scaling leadership–by being the kind of leader who develops other conscious and effective leaders.

Bill Adams and Robert Anderson have conducted over 1,000,000 assessments on leaders worldwide, this database of senior leaders provides intelligence about what is going right and what needs improvement.  Bill stated in our interview that leaders are in a world that is moving fast is is more chaotic and disrupted and less predictable that ever.  We are in a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambitious time, and the future does not look like it is going to change anytime soon.

Leaders today step into a transformative crucible and that is a spiritual boot camp as well and we are in need of more creative vs reactive leaders.  There are liabilities of being a highly reactive leader, and the Full Circle Group has created an assessment called the Leadership Circle which can assist you in identifying your leadership style.
