“What If You Could Skip the Cancer”, is a very interesting account of the author Katrina Bos’s life after her discovery of a tumor in her breast and an encounter with a man who had extraordinary spiritual insights that helped change her life forever.
Katrina came from a long linage of women in her family who had been diagnosed with breast cancer and several had died from the disease. Katrina’s journey certainly is not the traditional path that one might take, but her journey has an insightful message for anyone dealing with disease.
She meets a man by the name of Jim who counsels her through her journey of healing. He could sense Katrina’s emotional connections to the disease and the personal challenges with depression that ensued as a result of her disease and overall thoughts about life in general.
Jim used his special healing insights to help Katrina see her connection to her thoughts about the disease many other aspects of her life and how this was effecting her happiness which was ultimately perpetuating the a dis-ease thinking.
This is not a book about alternative medicine vs. conventional medicine. It is about ideas beyond these things. It is about looking at aspects of our lives that have a huge impact on our health regardless of what treatment path we take. It is about understanding how and why disease would come to us in the first place. It is about looking at why it runs in families. It’s about looking at some of our sacred cows and wondering if they are helping or harming us. It’s about understanding why some people live and some people die regardless of what (if any) treatment that they take.
It is about the important shifts that we can make in our lives right now before we get sick. It is about changes that we can make so that we model something different for our children – so that they won’t have to fear cancer either.
