Podcast 472: The Hidden Gifts of Helping with Stephen G. Post

I always enjoy my interviews with Stephen Post because he genuinely is a loving and kind hearted soul.

In my recent interview with Stephen we discuss a book that he published in 2011 entitled ” The Hidden Gifts of Helping“about his experiences of being uprooted and moving from Ohio to upstate New York.  While this might not seem like a big deal to many of you, Stephen and I discuss the many challenges people face psychologically and emotionally when they go through change.  This obviously was the case for Stephen and his family, and the many stories he articulates in the book help to put the issues of dealing with change in perspective.

Stephen speaks with me  about what he is so passionate , which is love, giving, helping and compassion.  Stephens non-profit organization The Institute for Research on Unlimited Love studies the positive effects on our  mental and physical health as a result of giving, compassion and lending a helping hand.  There is no doubt that the actions of giving, supporting and having a heart filled with compassion and love has positive effects of making us feel better, live longer and have positive experience in our life.  So why don’t we all have more of an open and giving heart?  This is something to contemplate as you listen to our interview. I am certain that many of you will change your actions and see how much the benefits outweigh investment of time and energy.
