Sarah Maria is beautiful and she used to suffer from negative body obsession. It is difficult to believe that this outgoing, gregarious woman thought that she was too fat.
Her new book entitled, “Love Your Body, Love Your Life“, is as much about her personal journey as it is about providing both men and women with the tools to help end this obsession.
In our interview together we discuss the five steps to end negative body obsession and start living happily and confidently. Sarah says if you are struggling, you are not alone. 80-90 percent of women and a growing number of men dislike their physical appearance. Body hatred has become an epidemic of unfathomable proportion in this culture. It is no wonder considering how our media emphasizes beauty, youth and remaining forever young.
Sarah says beyond the physical and emotional costs of negative body obsession lies the damage done on the spiritual front. She states that tremendous suffering occurs when you are unaware of your spiritual truth. Living with negative body obsession prevents you from experiencing who you really are. It deprives you of your fundamental experience of living your life fully and with limitless potential.
Purpose can literally help people stay alive. Sarah says to discover who you really are and to discover your purpose and to live it. Those of you suffering from eating disorders or intense emotional struggles probably know, continued abuse of your body and mind can lead to precarious life-and-death situations. Finding a sense of purpose, however helps those stuck in these very dark horrific places.
