Raising children in our world today takes a considerable about of energy and thought. Our children are so undated with media through cell phones, tablets and computers that at times it seems overwhelming.
So just how do you monitor the devices and the amount of time they spend on mobile devices. While the answer might seem simple, our resident expert and author Susan Stiffelman suggest setting limits, and become the Captain of the Ship. If we are afraid of our children’s reactions (which will most likely be negative to limiting time on cell or computers), we cannot parent effectively says Susan. She suggests that we need to set the example for our children and practice what we preach, so we need to limit on our own use of electronic devices and media.
In my interview with Susan Stiffelman the author of Parenting with Presence, we discuss the many issues facing parents raising children in our modern world. Susan states”When our relationship with our children is permeated with our whole-hearted engagement and presence, then our children our more inclined to turn to us, rather than to their friends, for guidance and support.” If you are interested in raising children with greater levels of appreciation, gratitude, and spirituality then I recommend listening to our interview and reading he new book “Parenting with Presence“.
I hope you enjoy this great interview with an author that will shed light and wisdom on how to parent in the modern world. You can learn more about Susan by clicking here to be directed to her website, or click here to be directed to the Facebook page .
