Harvey McKinnonThis was a wonderful interview with Harvey McKinnon the author of the new book entitled, “The Power of Giving“.

Harvey has a big heart, and loads of passion behind his charitable work. He and the co-author of this book, Azim Jamal,  point out that giving does more than just improve the lives of others; it affects your own life profoundly.  With benefits ranging from the practical–improved health and professional connection–to the intangible–creating feelings of hope and a sense of connection with others–giving is an essential but often overlooked human need.

One of the studies revealed that people who exhibit higher levels of altruism get a “helpers high”, a release of endorphins.  This high can give the immune system a boost, speed recovery from surgery and cut down on those restless nights.   Also thanks to new brain-scan technology, scientists have also discovered evidence that humans are “hard wired” to take care of and help each other.  A British poll of volunteers found that half of those surveyed claimed that their health had improved while they were volunteering.  Twenty percent of them claimed they lost weight, too which is a higher success rate than any diet we know.

If you would like to know more about what you can do to personally to become a giver, then I highly recommend reading “The Power of Giving“.  This book could certainly be transformational in your life if you implement some of the practices that Harvey and Azim outline in their book.

These are simple practices that are proven to awaken you, transform and improve your life in almost every possible way imaginable.   It is not hard to give, and it does not have to be just money.  Your gifts can be of time and your talent, for those are needed just as much as your money.

So relax, and enjoy this wonderful interview.  You can learn more about Harvey and Azim by visiting their website by clicking here.

Rick Hanson Ph.D.What a wonderful interview with a great author who will enlighten you about the neuroscience associated with the brain.  Rick Hanson’s new book entitled, “Buddha’s Brain-The Practical Neuroscience of Happiness, Love and Wisdom“,  is a fascinating in-depth look at how science is now revealing how the flow of thoughts actually sculpts the brain.  By combining breakthroughs in neuroscience with insights from thousands of years of contemplative practice, you too, can use your mind to shape your brain for greater happiness, love and wisdom.

In my interview with Rick, we explore the brain physiology and how the brain evolved to keep humans safe from external threats; the resulting “built-in negative bias” that creates suffering in modern individuals.  As quoted by psychologist Donald Hebb–“when neurons fire together, they wire together”.  Rick argues that the brain’s functioning can be affected by simple practices and meditations to foster well-being.  Rick states that classic Buddhist concepts such as the “three trainings” of mindfulness, virtuous action and wisdom can help one in attaining greater levels of happiness.

Buddha’s Brain-The Practical Neuroscience of Happiness, Love and Wisdom” shows you how to:

  • Stress Proof your brain.
  • Practical and proven methods for feeling less irritable, sad and defensive.
  • Simple daily exercises to reprogram the brain to handle stress better.
  • How cultivating love and compassion for self and others combats anxiety.
  • Brain savvy ways to build resilience and inner strength
  • The Five “C’s” (Consciousness, Calm, Contentment, Caring and Creativity)

If you are looking for ways to de-stress your life and to have more peace and harmony, then I highly recommend that you read  Rick Hanson’s new book.  It is written in a  simple and easy to read format that informs and educates you on exactly what to do and how to apply these life changing practices.

If you would like more information, Dr. Hanson has developed a wonderful website with lots of informative articles and tools. You can access the Wise Brain.org website by clicking here.

David Daniels M.D.How many of you are aware of the Enneagram?  I  had been exposed to the concept some time ago, but never really understood the aspects of the Enneagram until my interview with Dr. David Daniels.  He is the expert on the Enneagram and how to utilize it as a tool both personally and professionally.

So just what is it, and how can you use it?  Dr. David Daniels new book entitled, “The Essential Enneagram“, is a wonderful tool that assists the reader in understanding the various personality types that make up the Enneagram.  Dr. Daniels takes the reader through a simple process of identifying  your type and the characteristics associated with your personality type.

The Enneagram is a powerful and dynamic personality system that describes nine distinct and fundamentally different patterns of thinking, feeling and acting.  “Ennea” is Greek for nine and “gram” means a figure or something written.  Each of the nine patterns is based on an explicit perceptual filter and associated driving emotional energy.  These patterns determine what individuals of each personality type pay attention to and how they direct their energy and behavior.

Discovering your Ennegram personal type can help you learn how to bring positive change into your life.  It can help change the way you relate to yourself and others as well as give you a greater understanding of the circumstances and issues facing you.  Moreover, it can give you powerful assistance in integrating the personal and spiritual aspects of your life.

If you would like to learn more about your personality and identifng aspects of your personality that are serving you and others that have the option of changing for the better, then I highly recommending reading Dr. David Daniels new book “The Essential Enneagram”.  It will provide you with useful information to improve your relationships at home and work.    More information about Dr. Daniels and the services that he offers can be obtained by clicking here to access his website.

Kabbalah can truly help one find and make a deep spiritual connection.  It provides you with the wisdom, tools and deep understanding to turn your life into whatever you want it to be.  Whether you want to make dramatic changes or just want a better understanding of yourself and the life you’re living.

Kabbalah: The Power to Change Everything is a progressive manual for daily life to awaken consciousness and create personal and global change.  Yehuda Berg examines the problematic areas of politics, religion, environment and economy and demonstrates how everything , no matter how bleak can be transformed by shifting our minds.

Larry CraneLove Yourself and Let the Other Person Have it Your Way” by Larry Crane is based on the teachings of Lester Levenson and the technique he developed called the “Release Technique”.  Levenson was a very intelligent man, as a matter of fact he was a physicist and engineer.  Intellectually he was brilliant but emotionally he longed for happiness and love.  Levenson came to the end of his rope, when his health started to fail him and he knew he needed to do something. He realized that to increase love in his life he needed to let go of the non-loving feelings.  Sounds simple enough doesn’t it?

The Release Technique that I dialogue with Larry Crane about will assist you in letting go of the non-loving feelings.  Larry discovered Lester’s teachings as a result of almost committing suicide. He was unhappy yet he had all of the material possessions that anyone could want.  Larry says that the day he met Lester was the single greatest day of his life.

For Larry, it’s all about results. “It’s not what you say, it’s what you do,” are words Larry often repeats. “Talking about love, talking about what love is, talking about how to be loving is not the answer,” says Larry. “Actually doing it is the answer. Doing it, not talking about it.”

Don’t resist loving yourself.  Blocking those feelings prevents you from moving forward both emotionally and spiritually.  If you want real happiness and joy in your life, it is all about loving yourself and those around you.  Letting go is the answer to having loving relationships in your life.  The release technique is the secret to letting go and finding love and happiness in your life.

According to Larry human love is selfish.  Divine love is completely selfless.  Real love is winning the universe, not just one person but every person, every being.  Real love, divine love is constant, persistent acceptance of all the beings in the universe.

Sarah Maria Sarah Maria is beautiful and she used to suffer from negative body obsession.  It is difficult to believe that this outgoing, gregarious woman thought that she was too fat.

Her new book entitled, “Love Your Body, Love Your Life“, is as much about her personal journey as it is about providing both men and women with the tools to help end this obsession.

In our interview together we discuss the five steps to end negative body obsession and start living happily and confidently.  Sarah says if you are struggling, you are not alone.  80-90 percent of women and a growing number of men dislike their physical appearance. Body hatred has become an epidemic of unfathomable proportion in this culture.  It is no wonder considering how our media emphasizes beauty, youth and remaining forever young.

Sarah says beyond the physical and emotional costs of negative body obsession lies the damage done on the spiritual front.  She states that tremendous suffering occurs when you are unaware of your spiritual truth.  Living with negative body obsession prevents you from experiencing who you really are.  It deprives you of your fundamental experience of living your life fully and with limitless potential.

Purpose can literally help people stay alive.  Sarah says to discover who you really are and to discover your purpose and to live it.  Those of you suffering from eating disorders or intense emotional struggles probably know, continued abuse of your body and mind can lead to precarious life-and-death situations. Finding a sense of purpose, however helps those stuck in these very dark horrific places.

I encourage you to listen to this interview and to visit Sarah’s website by clicking here.  Her new book has great advice, and her workshops and information about her personal body consulting can be accessed at the website as well.  Enjoy our interview together.

Will Marre I have been a fan of Will Marrè’s for a long time.  His workshops and writings are fantastic!!! He is a joy to listen to and  dialogue with.

His new book entitled, “Save the World and Still Be Home for Dinner“,  is designed to enlighten and move his readers to action.  All of us can admit that we live in a world that is constantly changing.  Our lives have been moving at a faster pace, and we are looking for more meaning and purpose in our personal and professional lives.

Will’s new book ” Save the World and Still Be Home for Dinner” is written to get you thinking about your personal promise.  What is is that you would do to make a difference in the world?  What is your personal promise to yourself and your family?

Will asks you to “change how you think about change.”  To create a world of sustainable abundance which means to find the pulse of life we can maintain that doesn’t burn us out or exhaust us but enables us to be fully present in each moment filled with both gratitude and new solutions.

If we are to live lives filled with sustainable abundance, then as leaders we need to be Real Leaders.  We need to be responsible, ethical, create abundance and a legacy.  When we look at our world from a real leadership perspective our challenges become opportunities, and our decisions are made with the whole world in mind.

Will encourages individuals to know themselves, to dig deep within themselves and do some soul searching.  Why are you here?  What is your promise, and how can you fulfill it?

As the author articulates,  soul as I mean the word is not some poetic spiritual abstraction or article of religious dogma, but the core essence of who we are as living breathing, feeling, thinking human beings.  Our soul is the deepest dimension of our awareness, as silent intelligence that underlies all of our mental and emotional functions.  Our soul is not the object of our thinking.  It is the thinker.  The “me” before the thoughts.  is is the sacred essence of our individual identity.

So if you are looking to search your soul, and find a place within yourself that resonates with the essence of your being and from this place be moved to take action and make a difference in this world, then I not only highly recommend “Save the World and Still Be Home for Dinner” I also recommend that you watch some of Will’s great video’s on Save the World and Still Be Home for Dinner by clicking here.

You are going to love this interview with Will Marrè, and I know you will want to read this book more than once to really dig into the essence of the message.

Lou CassaraI have been a personal friend with Lou Cassara for over six years.  We met at a Spirit in Business conference in Santa Fe, NM.  Lou was attending the conference to better understand the concepts behind the triple bottom line for business. If you are not aware of the triple bottom line, it is people, planet and profits.

Lou has always been a trendsetter when it came to working with his financial services clients.  He is part of a very prestigious group of men and women who make up the top one half of one percent in the insurance industry.

His book, “From Selling to Serving“, is about the process that Lou has developed to help him stay in the top of his industry, and he explains the very important aspects of how to better understand and work with clients/customers in any business.  His “Client Creator Process” has been taught to thousands of sales and marketing people throughout the financial services and has helped so many sales people understand the simplicity of attracting and retaining customers.

Lou has found out that how you communicate with your clients accounts for 85% of the relationship.  Yet most sales professionals spend only 15% of their time developing these vital skills and abilities.   People buy from people.  Relationships, not products are the key.  Changing the way you think about these relationships, and moving from a selling to serving mindset creates unlimited opportunity.

I hope you enjoy this interview with a true master in his profession, and someone who will teach you how to attract, connect and commit by aligning intention with actions.

If you would like to know more about Lou Cassara and his book “From Selling to Serving” please click here to access his website.  Enjoy our interview together.
