Podcast 46:The Compassionate Communications Journey

I truly apologize for not attending to my blog over the last several months. I love writing and doing the interviews with the authors, but my focus has been distracted by a very important project. Along with my son Sean and the team at Compassionate Communications we have been creating a website designed to build communities of support for individuals with life threatening illness. We have developed a website that allows individuals interested in communicating with patients with life threatening illness a place to read their profiles, and select a healing card that they hand write to the patient.

Our website combines the technology of the Internet with old fashion card writing. You can visit our website by clicking here and read the profiles of patients fighting life threatening illness, select a card and Hallmark will send you our patient outreach kit which will include five (5) Hallmark cards for each of the (5) patients you choose, along with pre-addressed and postage paid envelopes. It will also includes (5) postcard addressed back to you so if you choose to place them in the envelopes with your cards to the patients, they can communicate back to you…almost like a pen pal.

I previously placed an entry into my blog at the beginning of the Compassionate Communications journey telling a little behind the inspiration and reason for creating the website. I am pleased to announce that as of May 15th we launched the website, and I am so proud of the work that everyone on the team contributed to make this launch successful. We have seven (7) charities represented to date, and will be adding two(2) more charities this month. We have over 35 patients in the system, and the numbers continue to grow as more patients learn about our program.

I would like to encourage all of my faithful listeners of the Inside Personal Growth Blog and Podcast to visit the Compassionate Communications website by clicking here. Your participation in the program will change the lives of people who are in need of receiving your words of encouragement and inspiration. Just think with the click of a button you can be on your way to making a difference in the life of someone who is less fortunate than you. You also will be contributing 25% of the proceeds of your $25 order to the charity that the patients are affiliated with .

Greg-VoisenIf you know of anyone facing a life threatening illness and you believe they could use a spiritual treatment, one that combines the power of conventional western medicine along with power of intentional acts of healing through the well wishes of hundreds of card writers, then I encourage you to have them or one of their family members get in touch with us. We will help make the enrollment process easy and simple and will get them receiving the outpouring of well wishes they so deserve so we can help them on their path toward better health and happiness.

Heartfelt Connections-Greg Voisen

CC logoI am currently involved in a project that was a co-creation with Spirit and has been divinely guided from inception. I am very excited about how rapidly it has manifested so I thought I would fill my loyal listeners in on some of the details and the status of our pilot launch.

Several years ago I was at a meditation retreat in the Orcas Islands off the coast of Washington and was inspired by a greeting card concept that I referred to as Compassionate Communications. At the time I was enrolled in a Master in Arts program at the University of Santa Monica in Spiritual Psychology, and I had stated my quality for the year was compassionate communications. In other words I was going to be working on becoming a more compassionate communicator. I remember making a comment to a friend at the time about creating a greeting card line that would be focused on sending heartfelt messages to others, and awakening in the business world a method of helping people be more compassionate with one another. I was inspired enough to go back home and reserve the URL www.compassionatecommunications.com, but that is as far as it went.

Several years transpired and I attended another Spiritual retreat in Virginia and had just been reading a book entitled “Vision Walk”, (which by the way I have completed a podcast with the author Brant Morgan on which will be posted shortly.) Brandt explains in the book a simple but powerful process where you mediate on a question that is important to you, then go on a walk in nature and listen for Spirits guidance and answers. Well, I took his advice and the first questions that popped up was , “What am I suppose to be doing with Compassionate Communications?” During the meditation my focus was on the question, but the mediation was quite peaceful and with no revaluations or insights. I then proceeded to take a walk in nature and listen for the answer to my question, and this is when I become one with Spirit and the guidance about what to do was crystal clear. Spirit directed me as to the exact details of this project and how I was going to be helping people. This was truly a magical experience for I can remember it vividly, touching butterfly’s as I walked through the woods, something that had never happened to me before. I must admit at times I thought that I might loose the detail, but when I arrived back at my cabin it all came flowing out in my journal.

The information was very clear, so much so that I wrote almost nine pages of detail about this project . The manifestation of this divine intervention with Spirit has been the creation of Compassionate Communications and a joint project with Hallmark Cards called, “Heartfelt Connections.” I must tell you that Spirits assistance did not stop that day in the woods of Virginia, she continued to guide me directly to Hallmark.

I came home from the retreat and asked my assistant Jennifer to find the phone number to someone in management at Hallmark, she did and I made the call. They responded and were willing to listen to the Spirit created idea about reciprocal healing greeting cards. They were so impressed with the idea that they sent out five people from the home office to meet with my son Sean and I. What prompted their visit was a meeting that I had set up with the Leukemia Society, San Diego to discuss a pilot program we wanted to kick off in the San Diego area.

I’d like to say the rest is history, but we are still writing the history book. We are currently in the middle of the launch of the pilot program. Over the last few weeks we have been able to enroll over 100 Compassionate Communicators to write 5 cards each to cancer patients and we have 16 patients who will be receiving the healing messages. Those patients will be able to respond to the Compassionate Communicators because inside each healing card being sent is a self addressed postcard to acknowledge the Compassionate Communicator. That is what makes this program reciprocal and healing to both the sender and receiver. The sender can send a card knowing that he or she has the gratitude that but for the grace of God go I, and the patients enrolled in receiving the healing cards are able to reach out and touch the lives of the sender with a compassionate note of acknowledgment.

Our intention and all of our efforts are being put on a web site that will facilitate the process. We will launch our web site in March where the Compassionate Communicator will be able to choose the patients, and view their profiles then pick healing cards that he or she wants to send. You will then be able to upload your picture to the healing card, and the picture of the patients chosen will be printed on the return postcard being sent back to the Compassionate Communicators. At that point the Compassionate Communicator will be sent a priority mail package with 5 healing cards ready for your message of inspiration and encouragement all postage paid ready for you to drop in the mail. Then just set back relax and enjoy the feelings of healing both you and the patients are receiving.

Greg VoisenIf you would like to learn more about our Heartfelt Connections program and become involved in our next pilot prior to the launch of our web site go to www.compassionatecommunicaitons.com and download the FAQ or just leave your email and we will put you on the list for the next pilot program or to be notified when our beta site launches.

I’d like to take this opportunity to wish everyone who has supported me throughout the years a Happy Holiday and a Prosperous and Healthy New Year.

The focus of this podcast is on his soon to be released book entitled, “Awakening the Entrepreneur Within: How Ordinary People Can Create Extraordinary Companies.” For years, Michael Gerber has been known for his work around the E-Myth. He has transformed over 50,000 entrepreneurs lives through helping them develop systems to duplicate themselves and grow their businesses. Michael emphasizes the main reason that small businesses fail is not because their dream is too big, but rather too small and too realistic—it isn’t big enough to sustain more life. In my interview with him we explore what happens when a entrepreneur is impassioned with an idea and a dream. We discussed what happens when he or she wakes up inside and is on fire about their new dream and defines their vision, mission and purpose around the dream to manifest it bring it into reality.

Michael has created this new place that entrepreneurs can practice a new kind of dreaming something he refers to as “Intentional Dreaming.” It has nothing to do with problem solving and everything to do with transforming your whole life and business in a radically creative and strategic way.

Dr. Lisa Williams is a wonderful, bright, articulate and loving soul. She has blessed our planet with her great energy and zest for life. I was invited to attend one of Lisa’s talks, but was not able to make it. My intuition told me that I needed to meet her, so I telephoned her to discuss her book and consulting practice, Williams Research. I was so impressed with Lisa just from our telephone conversation that I asked her to lunch so we could engage in a more deep and meaningful dialogue. During our first meeting I asked her to sit on an advisory board for my company, eLuminate, Inc ., which created, Digital Seed software, an interactive learning platform. Podcast 21: Master Storytelling Coach Karen Dietz

I first met Karen through a good friend, Joe Sterling. Joe had started a non-profit organization in San Diego called, “The Free Agent Ecosystem“. During its formation, Karen was one of his partners and an original founder. I was intrigued not only by the work they were doing together, but by Karen’s knowledge around corporate storytelling.

Karen ultimately left San Diego a few years ago and headed to Tennessee to become the Executive Director of the National Storytelling Network, where she was responsible for growing the organization’s membership. While at the National Storytelling Network, she became friends with Lisa Silverman and Karen helped author a book with Lisa entitled, “Wake Me Up When the Data Is Over: How Organizations Use Stories to Drive Results“. In this book Lisa and Karen explore how storytelling can help create clear direction, increase energy, and save millions in decreased costs while helping with the retention of talent.

In this interview with Karen, we explore the power of storytelling for the listener, and how it can transform an organization’s culture. I personally have been coached by Karen and her ability to help you take your story and transform it into a compelling, engaging and enlightening talk is truly amazing. Podcast 16: Reclaiming your Goddess Sexuality with Dr. Linda Savage

Dr. Linda Savage Book - Reclaiming Your GoddessOne of my friends, Natalie Maisel, who is a wonderful yoga teacher I also interviewed, suggested that I interview Dr. Linda Savage. This normally would not have been a subject area that I would have had much interest or focus on, but after doing my podcast with Dr. Savage, I am very pleased that I listened to my friend. Dr. Savage is a fascinating author and licensed psychologist, marriage and family counselor and sex therapist with a totally unique approach to helping couples rekindle their sexual desires.

Dr. Savage is an expert in areas of the pleasure paradigm and how our society has focused more on the goal of creating pleasure between the sexes and less on creating heart centered sex where the experience is more spiritual. Dr. Savage speaks about energy psychology and the various chakra centers within our body and how shifting the focus on these chakra centers changes the ultimate sexual experience. Her book “Reclaiming Goddess Sexuality: The Power of the Feminine Way, ” presents a new view of female sexuality blending ancient wisdom with current clinical knowledge. It offers powerful new ways of understanding a woman’s sexuality, historically, biologically and spiritually. For any woman seeking to expand her sexual life and for any man wanting to bring greater pleasure to the woman he loves, this book offers invaluable insights.

I hope that after listening to this podcast that my listeners will come to appreciate their sexuality more fully and be willing to reframe how they look at sex and the role that it plays in their life, not just for the pleasure attained in the act of sex, but potentially how they might be more pleased by making the act more heart centered.
